What Have I Forgotten?

A progressive art-pop concept album and a 170-page illustrated companion book, a 360 immersion into the “ancient relics hidden within all of us.”

Nymphya’s mesmerizing cinematic art‑pop album What Have I Forgotten? surrounds the listener with lush vocals and strikingly unusual instrumentation - a fusion of folk, classical, progressive, and electro elements.

Ancient voices - aulos, lyre, frame drum, hurdy‑gurdy, harpsichord, harp, cello, Celtic flute, banjo, and dulcimer - interlace with bass, drums, guitar, and synth to create a soundscape that feels both timeless and otherworldly. Composed during the lockdowns, the album draws deeply from the ancient Western Mystery tradition, whose symbolic layers and hidden meanings revealed themselves as the work unfolded.

As the mythic structure of the music became clear, Nymphya realized the album needed a companion text; an illustrated book that could guide listeners further into the esoteric world behind the songs. The result is a hybrid musical memoir and magical tome, hand‑illustrated by Nymphya in the spirit of an illuminated manuscript, designed to bring readers deeper into the mystical lineage that inspired the album.

Medieval, world, indie rock, dream pop and progressive rock. Includes hypnotic inductions from the book recorded by Nymphya, and over an hour of additional recorded material. Crowdfunded on Kickstarter in October 2022 and selected by Kickstarter as a “Project We Love”. Notable track: “Beachcombing” which has garnered over 1 million viral views on multiple platforms.

“NYMPHYA’s latest album, What Have I Forgotten?, isn’t just another entry into the world of Art Rock - it’s a groundbreaking leap into a new realm of musical immersion. From the very first note of “What Have I Forgotten,” it’s clear that NYMPHYA is crafting something truly special. With its runtime stretching out towards an hour, the album offers a transformative experience that feels as though it’s reaching out to touch something deeply mystical and profoundly innovative.”

Cleopatra Patel, Big Celebrity Buzz

“A musical journey that sweeps you off your feet from the very first note; a fusion of melodies and rhythms creates a captivating atmosphere, each track a carefully crafted work of art, with layers of purposeful sound. Well-produced instrumentation & vocals make every moment a pleasure. Whether you're a dedicated Nymphya fan or a newbie, this album is a treasure for your turntable.”

“A sensational album and musical masterpiece of divine music and incredible vocals. Though I love Dream Dance and Naked Kate, this surpassed my expectations. The book takes you on a journey through stories and experiences from past, past life, and present times. Beautifully written with stunning illustrations.”

R. F., fan

“By pushing the boundaries of what an album can be, NYMPHYA invites listeners into a world of spiritual and emotional discovery that resonates with the ambition and artistry of her influences while charting a path of its own. This album is not just a collection of songs; it is a journey, a reflection, and an invitation to explore the depths of one’s own consciousness.”

Garth Thomas, Hollywood Digest

“This gal’s got pipes that could send you to the moon and back. It’s like if you combined the ethereal quality of Enya with the raw emotional power of my favorite girl, Patti Smith, and then sprinkled in a little magic dust. With What Have I Forgotten?, she’s taken things to a whole new level. It’s like she’s found the secret doorway to a parallel universe and decided to invite us all along for the ride.”

Chadwick Easton, Melody Maker Magazine

“Absolutely amazing. One of a Kind! Best yet! Nymphya has outdone herself. Music ranges from rock to pop to gently mystical. Beautiful voice. The book is massive and takes you through the magical Nymphya mind and music.”

Naked Kate album cover: Nymphya with an acoustic guitar
December 6, 2019 · All acoustic anthology

Naked Kate

Experience the intimacy of having a private concert with just Nymphya, guitars, and the great music of Kate Bush.

A very special release only available in the Nymphya Shop and NOT ON SPOTIFY

Nymphya’s all acoustic anthology album of Kate Bush cover songs: 15 songs, a signed limited edition digipak with lyric book.

“The results are revelatory. Naked Kate isn’t a simple album; even at their most skeletal Bush’s chords, meters and melodies are still head-spinning (Even the sheet music for a Kate Bush song is downright frightening for a novice musician), but what Nymphya brings out in this audacious album is the essential heart of Kate’s music. Using only the tools familiar to a folk singer from 100 years ago - and a voice like your six favorite singers combined into one incredibly tall package -Nymphya has triumphed in her loving quest to unearth the quintessence of Kate Bush’s songs. The results are glorious. Reducing these titles to their irreducible Song-ness only elevates and amplifies their beauty and strength."This is now my favorite Kate Bush album.”

Angus McMahan, Coreopsis Journal of Myth Theatre

“I have heard it said that Kate Bush can’t be covered, however you seem to accomplish it effortlessly. Loving the CD so far. Your voice is so good, it is achingly good at times. Have you ever heard a voice or instrument played so well it grabs your innards and kind of twists them out of shape, you feel it right within maybe you would call it your soul or something, right to your core? Then you listen again and it goes even deeper again. When you listen to vocalists like Paul Rodgers, Cat Stephens, Otis Redding , Aretha Franklin, BB king , and the list goes on, you get to know a good chanter! I can quite easily now add Nymphya to that list.”

I. C., fan, Northern Ireland

“The CD arrived Saturday!! Those covers far exceed my expectations!! After several listens, I can honestly say as an avid Kate Bush lover, that your interpretations have superceded those of Kate, and that is a very hard thing to do!!!! ... 100% better than I ever thought possible...”

T. A., fan, UK

“I bought this as I am a Kate Bush fan and was curious on how this would sound. Having listened to the album a couple of times I was very impressed with the originality and effort that had gone into each song, still Kate Bush but with a twist. Best covers that I have heard to date.”

P. G., fan, UK

“A stunning piece of work. Your talent once again is so creative and original. Those of you who haven't bought it are missing out big time.”

J. D., fan, UK

“A beautiful tribute . . . I am a huge Kate Bush fan. I find her music moving and haunting. I approach those who attempt to cover her music with deep skepticism. Seriously, how could anyone do what Kate has done? There have been some ultimate failures and some so-so attempts. What impresses me about this album is the attempt to stay true to movement of the music. No one can ever truly "cover" Kate, but those who understand Kate's emotional connection to her music seem to be able to grasp that within their covers. The acoustic covers here give way to the lyrics and allow the words to flow. I am impressed with the cover album. No alternative motives here, just someone paying homage to Kate. Bravo.”

E. C., fan, UK

“A beautiful masterpiece ... Every song is simply beautiful...perfect to listen to after a hard day's work... If I had to pick highlights (hard as the whole album is amazing) it would to be "Hounds of Love" and "The Man With The Child In His Eyes" (my 2 favourite KB songs). Would love to hear you sing And Dream of Sheep :-)”

P. G., fan, UK

“The work wasn’t just a simple tribute to Kate Bush, but a real homage. The songs have been meticulously transposed towards the intimate universe of Nymphya. The acoustic guitar creates an intimate and very personal atmosphere. If you forget the original edits for a while you can literally feel the sensible approach of Valentina O. And the ultimate cover version is for sure “Running Up That Hill”. Valentina O. confirms her great vocal skills. I also like the sensual pics on the artwork symbolizing the title of this cover work... One thing is for sure, there only is one Kate Bush and Nymphya is keeping her work alive…”

Dream Dance album cover: Nymphya underwater among flowers
December 1, 2017 · Debut concept album

Dream Dance

A stirring continuous mix of cinematic art-pop that drops you into a dreamscape glade and winds you through twisted trails and tales of layered loops, strings, soundscapes.

Her all original, 13-track debut concept album. Folktronica, art-pop and baroque pop.

“What strikes the listener upon first encounter with DREAM DANCE is that it is at once challenging and accessible. . . An ambitious and well-crafted work, which provokes as much as it soothes. Sonically what has been created here sounds unique, an admirable accomplishment in and of itself. . . It asks much of the listener and warrants repeated visits. Dream Dance deserves to be heard.”

Rawckus Magazine, Chris Wheatley

“On my 4th back to back runthrough of this album, I am really enjoying it. There is a lot of sorrow being released in “Beautiful Wound”; the multi-layered vocals are marvelous. The packaging is stellar; I love the lyric book, and the artwork. Nymphya has delivered in spades with this album. I will encourage my listeners to hear this through headphones. . . We have ourselves a celestial new age goddess.”

Deep Nuggets Radio, Steven Davies Morris

“With this album, Nymphya has created an integrated musical experience with a beginning, middle and an end. Put the music on, and then sit back and listen, and you will soon have grown to love it, to crave it, to want to live in it. Nymphya creates a world that you can only appreciate by totally inhabiting it. This album has a beautiful, unique, consistent musical and emotional vision. . .she’s just so versatile and able to infuse each song with its own particular tone and timbre, that she sounds like three or four different singers all rolled into one. This is perfection at work. We may have waited six or seven years for this album to become reality, but it is certainly worth the wait. You get so swept away by the poetic beauty of the melodies, atmospheres, and moods that you forget about all the sweeping and genial electronics being applied in the musical arrangements, which in itself is a massive feat. What can more I say about this beautiful woman with a beautiful voice that hasn’t already been said? Breathtaking vocals, deeply stirring music, all impeccably produced. In a word - Spellbinding!”

Staff, TunedLoud

“In a musical climate filled with re-hashed,cookie-cutter songs, finding an artist brave enough to follow their own path can be tough. When you do, it’s like a breath of fresh air. Enter Nymphya. who has put forth an album that defies all conventional labels. . . a journey deep into the soul and psyche. Written, produced and performed mostly by (Nymphya) herself, she pushes musical and melodic boundaries, keeping the listener both entranced and curious. While one may draw comparisons to artists like Kate Bush, Tori Amos and the like, Nymphya travels a different road, with un-expected turns and twists.”

Marc Farr, Rock and Roll Infinity (Grade: A+)

“Spectacular. . . eclectic but not disjointed, musically fascinating, gripping and moving. The brief soundscapes are little gems of complexity. I think Broken might be my favorite. I have different images in my head every time I listen to it. Howl is also utterly amazing. Such a spacious mix, big and mysterious. And Chrysalis with the bells and plunky strings. Egad. Those miniature tracks are skillfully built, and placed in just the right places. What a spectacular idea. The vocal mix on Wasteland is especially brilliant. That track may be my favorite for that reason, although it’s very hard to pick just one. This is a truly extraordinary accomplishment and an amazing CD from start to finish.”
